Memorial

Many thanks to everyone who attended Ella's memorial service, or sent their condolences.

The program for the service is available here.

Here are the texts of (most of) the speaker's remarks:

Denise Brown, director of the Montclair High School Dance Company where Ella danced all through High School, dedicated this year's performance to Ella - see the dedication in the program.

The Macalester Theatre and Dance Department Spring Concert Program also dedicated the performance to Ella, and donated proceeds to her fund.

Gaby D'Angelo

My beautiful Ella was a maker.

She made a friendship with me.

She made brushstrokes on canvas.

She made movement in space.

She also made chocolate cream pie and butternut squash.

While she was strong and capable, she was more greatly humble.

She, like any maker, was incredibly sensitive. I feel that sensitivity and sensibility is one of the best qualities of a maker. Ella embodied sensitivity in every part of her life, in how she related to me and everyone she knew.

That is what brought you all here and she is who made me, me.
